Flight to Vietnam!!!

Our final flight lasted about 1.5 hours. They even served a meal! Steve and I had "Chinese food "(that's what the flight attendant called this particular option), although it was far more unusual than what we'd generally order in a Chinese restaurant at home. :) But it was good! And we ordered "pancakes" for Kevin, not knowing what it would look like. It was a great choice for him! They were sweet pancakes, along with several other things.

After all my careful planning and packing to ensure that Kevin had PLENTY of activities for our journey... he didn't end up using most of them!!! We used the portable DVD player on layovers. And he used the Leapster on one domestic flight. Other than that, he slept, ate, and watched movies on the plane. Then on this final flight, he was soooo high strung and exhausted and couldn't settle down. So we got out an activity. Daddy had bought this little Diego book with a magic pen that makes the pictures appear. Kevin colored intently on this for the entire flight, except when he was eating!! He was sooo serious about completing the entire thing!! Sometimes, he would pause and sigh and say he was so tired and asked Daddy to do some, like it was a task that had to be finished. ;) ha!

Then.... from out of the clouds.... Vietnam appeared!!!!!!! :) :) :) (I almost want to cry just typing that!!)

Wow!!

And we're here!!! :) :) We landed in Hanoi at 10am on Sunday. And all our bags arrived!!! :) 6 families arrived on the same flight, and we were greeted by our agency's in-country staff. Then we were divided into 2 vans to ride to our hotels (there are 2 different hotels that we could choose between -- we chose the cushier option).

OK...disregard that because I just read further down to discover your mom hasn't made it there yet.

It was so exciting for me to see all of you standing in Vietnam: your ultimate destination to add two great blessing to your family! (And that being said, I'll just quickly say that I also had this weird feeling looking at the view from the plane, . . . remembering the Vietnam War. Wondering if they're still selling American dogtags as little souveniers, . . . Won't mention that again, though.)
